Spend six summer afternoons learning traditional oil painting and techniques for handling and transporting landscape paintings. The class will explore the methods that have been used by European artists since the middle of the nineteenth century. These methods, still used today but with a contemporary slant, are used by artists such as Anne Appleby and Gerhard Richter. Instructor Nathan Naetzker, a traditional oil painter who creates contemporary subject matter, has been painting outdoors since the age of ten. A teacher at Buffalo State College, Naetzker was the 2000 recipient of the Prince of Wales allowing him the opportunity to paint in Europe with HRH Prince Charles.
